Gladys Runyon's Obituary
Gladys Runyon, 88, of Berea, peacefully passed away on July 28, 2023, at her home. She was born on September 27, 1934 in Nolan, West Virginia to the late Russell and Ollie Hensley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Runyon.
Gladys was well known for her loving kindness, hospitality and generosity. She led song service from time to time at the Church of God and sang special songs. She was a faithful churchgoer and participated wherever necessary. She was also part of a singing gospel group with her husband and two other friends from church. She loved the Lord and served him faithfully. She also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians nka Guardians play baseball. She was a cook, waitress, carhop and custodian. Family and friends were always important to her and she was a faithful loving wife to her husband Ernest.
She is survived by her loving family, including her children, Jennifer (Karl) Klucznik, Angie Novak, Tammy (Tom) Buser, Gary, (Sandy) Runyon, Robert (Michelle) Runyon; grandchildren, Hunter, Celeste, Lauren, Melanie (John), Adriene, Ashton, Courtney, Daiquiri, (Paul), Miranda, Mary, and Wesley; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Jasper, Ariel, Amelia, Miah and Noah; sisters, Donna, deceased, Shirley Fitzpatrick (Henry Fitzpatrick, deceased and Jack Williamson deceased) and their children, Kathy Kopchak (Danny) and their children, Judy Havran (Jim) and their children, Deborah Sammons and her children and brothers, Richard Hensley, deceased (Theresa) and their children, Tommy Hensley, deceased and his children, Everett Hensley (Patty) and their children, Ray Hensley, deceased and his children, Ronnie Hensley, deceased, Paul Hensley, deceased (Brenda) and their children.
A Visitation will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 12:00PM also at Sunset, with Pastor Sam Williams officiating. Her final resting place will be at Sunset Cemetery in North Olmsted, Ohio.
Flowers are welcome, but donations in lieu of flowers should be made out to the Northeaton Church of God, 12096 Island Road, Grafton, Ohio 44044.
