Gunars Janis Zikmanis' Obituary
Gunars Janis Zikmanis , 70, born May 13, 1952, to the late Juris and Paulina Zikmanis – went to live in heaven on April 12, 2023, Gunars was a person who left everyone he met with a smile and many fun memories. Survived by his wife, Nancy, and daughters, Jessica and Kristine, along with the family’s 6 cats and tortoise. He meant more to his family than he could ever have realized.
A sweet and caring man, beloved husband and father, and lifelong friend. He worked in the environmental field in Ohio and retired with his family to Naples, Florida in 2017. He passed peacefully after a battle with kidney and heart issues. He will be missed by his family, friends, the Latvian community, co-workers at Ohio EPA and everyone that knew him. May he rest in peace and brighten heaven with his jocularity as he did here on Earth.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 10:00 AM till 10:30 AM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A Memorial Service will immediately follow to honor Gunars’ life. Inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park following the service.
