Hans Franz's Obituary
Hans Franz, age 86, of Beavercreek, OH (formerly of the Cleveland area), passed away peacefully on October 21, 2015.
Hans was born on December 16, 1928 in Romania to the late Adam and Barbara (nee Schwartz) Franz. He worked several years for General Motors as a tool and die maker. Hans met the love of his life, Maria, while working in a Russian work camp during World War II. When they were released, Maria accompanied Hans to Germany where they were married soon after. In December of 1956, Hans and Maria traveled by boat to start their new lives together in the U.S.
Hans will be missed by his loving children Heinz Franz (Carla) and Wilhelm Franz (Lynn); grandchildren Brooke Franz, Morgan Nichols (Kyle), Ashley Franz , Adam Franz (Katilin) and Amanda Lewis (Jason); great grandson, Braxton James, who is on the way; and brother Franz Franz. Hans is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria (nee Dengjel) Franz and brother Erwin Franz.
Per the request of the family, all funeral services will be private. Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2928 Scranton Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113.
