Hans Hartmut Kaesgen's Obituary
Hans-Hartmut Kaesgen, 71 of Berea, Ohio, joined Christ on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Most beloved and loving husband of 40 years of Nancy (nee Chisholm). Loving father of Anne Katherine (Matthew), Heidi (Brett), Hans, and Mark (Heather). Adored Opa of Drew, Ian, Jack and Max. Dear brother to Dieter (Susan), Friedegard, Ruthild (Joerg), Ute (Klaus), and Wolfram (Rosi), and brother-in-law to Jackie. Dear brother-in-law to Tom (Jackie), Kathy, and Judy (Richard). Preceeded in death by his beloved parents, Walter and Maria, brother Juergen and brother-in-law Wolfgang. Devoted uncle, cousin, friend and mentor of many.
Hartmut was born June 26, 1942 in Hof Krempel, Germany, and immigrated to the US in 1962. He was a long-time employee at MTD Products in Valley City, beginning his career as a Tool and Die Apprentice, and retiring as Executive Vice President of Product Development in 2011. Hartmut was a faithful member at Grace Church, Middleburg Heights, Ohio, where he served on the Elder’s Council. He will be greatly missed.
Hartmut was a man of great faith. His favorite Bible verse was Job 19:25-26 “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God.”
The family will receive friends MONDAY, MAY 5, 2014 FROM 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. AT GRACE CHURCH, 7393 PEARL RD., MIDDLEBURG HTS, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted at 11 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY GATE)
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Church, c/o The Hartmut Kaesgen Memorial Gift, in support of the Bongolo Hospital in Gabon, Africa.
