Helen L. Stankie's Obituary
Helen L. Stankie, 92, of Melbourne, FL, formerly of Columbia Station, OH, died January 18, 2018. Helen was an active member of the Columbia community, a member of the “Mother Singers”, the local election board and was an actual WWII “Rosie the Riveter” at the Cleveland bomber plant.
Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Albert J. Stankie, she is survived by her sisters, Gloria Hrivnak (Tom) and Rose Andrew, and was the loving mother of Greg (Kathy), Brian (Linda), and Paul, and grandmother of Alex, Charles, Amy Jo, Sam, Kate and Ella. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, George (Linda-surviving), Phil, and Lee (Bonnie-surviving).
Visitation is 10 a.m. – 12 noon, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence at 12 noon. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
