Once upon a time Mr. Bormann had a goat called Elmer. When I would come over Elmer would get very excited. One day Henry and I were out back and the goat took after me. Mr. Bormann side stepped it like a matador and with one fluid motion grabbed it by the horns and bent over to grab it's water dish. He snatched it up and threw the water right into the goat's shocked face and declared "I've got the medicine for you Elmer! Water in your snoot!" I think it may have been the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life. I've never forgotten it even years and years later.
Mr. Bormann was a good good man and I loved him as much as if he were my own grandfather. He'd always help me if I needed it whether Henry was with me or not. I particularly loved talking to him and I always valued his insights and opinions and now I say the little aphorisms and sayings I learned from him to my own kids. Like "you're like a kid with a paper hat"
Eventually, as happens, I grew up and moved away and I hadn't seen him in a long time but I'll really miss him. The world is a worse place without him than with him.
