Henry A. Hausmann's Obituary
Henry A. Hausmann, age 69, of Strongsville, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry A. and Ruth F. (nee Brown).
Beloved husband to Nancy (nee Cazan); cherished father to Michael (Christina) Hausmann and Barbra (Randy) Pritschau; and dear grandfather to Madeline, Henry, Edward, Tyler and William.
Henry Allan Hausmann was born in Cleveland. His father, Henry Alfred Hausmann, was an electric worker and his mother was a housewife and never drove a car. His first home was on W. 83rd. St. between Lake Avenue and Detroit St.
In November of 1957, he moved to Berea. There, he attended school at Fairwood Elementary, then Roehm Jr. High School, and graduated from Berea High School in 1965. He played the trumpet in the school bands from the 4th grade through the 12th grade and was in the marching bands. Henry developed a fine appreciation for music of all types.
In the early 1970’s, he became interested in “Ham” Amateur Radio. Henry read hundreds of books pertaining to electronics, and communications, which provided him with a good electrical/electronic background.
Upon graduating, he decided to be an engineer – as he had always enjoyed learning what made things work. Henry attended Cuyahoga Community College for two years, then attended Cleveland State University in the evenings until he received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Foseco Inc. in Brook Park for over 39 years. For business, he had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Sweden, England and Japan, where Foseco has “sister” companies.
Henry was raised to Master Mason by Quarry Lodge #382, in Berea, in March of 2003. As a Past Master of Quarry and Past High Priest of Berea Chapter, it confirmed his belief that “You receive, out of anything in life…proportional to the effort that you put into it.”
He and his wife, Nancy, enjoyed vacationing in Canada, Prince Edward Island, Bermuda, Hawaii, Caribbean and many states. They both loved to be near the ocean or water, and favored coastal sites as Hilton Head, SC, Cape Cod MA, or Kennebunkport ME.
