Hildegard Tomm's Obituary
Hildegard Tomm entered into eternal rest to be with her Lord and Savior on August 20, 2025.
She is survived by her sister Margaret Kisser of Kelowna, British Columbia and her sons: Harry Tomm, Richard (Pam) Tomm, and Manfred (Lisa) Tomm. She was referred to as Omi by her grandchildren: Joshua, Hannah, Nathaniel (Teresa), Sharyn (Kaleb), Derek (Jenna), Nikki, and Kayla (Emma).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Erwin, granddaughter Sarah, her mother Berta Neumann and siblings: Ernest (Ursula) Spell, Heinz (Helga), Siegfried, Kurt, Werner and Walter.
Hildegard was born on May 31,1938 in Bonn, Germany. She immigrated to Sudbury Ontario, Canada in 1953 and then moved to Cleveland and found the love of her life, Erwin, and wed on June 18, 1960.
Hildegard and Erwin led by example and were diligent in pursuing their faith with regular reading of their Bibles, praying and church attendance with fellow believers throughout their lives.
She raised their three sons while being the bookkeeper for Accurate Mold and Die, the company Erwin started in 1965. They resided in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland and were actively involved in the West Park Friends Church. After Erwin’s death, Hildegard moved to Medina and enjoyed life with her son Harry and dog Missy out in the countryside.
The family is grateful for the care extended by the Lafayette EMS, Cleveland Clinic in Medina, Cleveland Clinic Main Campus CICU and cardiac stepdown floor J73, and especially her dedicated nurses Mattie, Dylan and Brittney, who provided Hildegard with exceedingly compassionate hospice care in her final days.
There will be a celebration of life service at Sunset Memorial Chapel located at 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 with Reverend Chris Jackson officiating this Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 2-2:30pm. Family will receive visitors from 1-2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Hildegard’s memory to West Park Friends Church, 3780 W 140th Street, Cleveland Ohio 44111 or to Mercy Ships, P.O, Box 1930 Garden Valley, TX 75771-1930.
