Irene King Albenze's Obituary
Irene King Albenze, age 92, formerly of North Olmsted, OH, and Daisytown, PA, died Thursday, December 3, in Lagrange, OH. She was born in Daisytown, PA, on November 18, 1928, and was the twelfth of fourteen children born to Hungarian immigrants Charles King (1883-1949, born László Kimpán) and Pauline King (1893-1983, born Paula Imszticsei).
A graduate of California High School in Coal Center, PA, she was the celebrated May Queen for her Class of 1947.
A professional beautician and always impeccably coifed, Irene was an entrepreneur, owning Alexander Salon.
Irene was married to the late Donald P. Albenze, who passed on February 2, 2002.
She is survived by her baby brother Frank King (Barbara) of Greensboro, NC; nephews Tracy King (Dayna) of Marysville, PA, and József Imsticai (Ilona) of Kispest, Hungary; nieces Karen Williams Foley (Kevin) of LaGrange, Ginny Williams Kamenec (Kevin) of Sterling Heights, MI, Eleanor King Berczik (the late Steve) of Manchester, CT, Linda King King (Walter David) of Daisytown, PA, and Kathleen King Johnston (Philip) of Greensboro, NC. as well as many beloved great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Albenze was preceded in death by 9 brothers: Michael (1997), Joseph (1913), Charles (1920), John (2007), Steve (1921), Louis (1921), Alex, (2010), George (2020), and Peter (1927); her 3 sisters Helen King Terrill (2002), Anna Rose King (1927), and Margaret King Williams (2017); her half-brother László Imsticzai (1985); nephew Jack King (2017); and niece Carolyn King Kash (2006)
Due to COVID-19, there will be no immediate memorial service. Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Funeral, Cremation Service, and Cemetery. Remembrances for Irene may be left at sunsetfuneralandcemetery.com. A proper service for Irene will be held later in 2021.
