J. Alberto Molina, M.D.'s Obituary
Alberto Molina, M.D. passed away peacefully on September 27, 2019 at the age of 85 surrounded by loved ones in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he moved to nearly 4 years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife Paula (nee Chizmadia). Loving father of Carlos Alberto Molina (Tiffany Coor), Claudia J. Marchewka (Scott) and Adriana M. Pauletto (Michael). Proud and loving grandfather of David Molina (Dottie), John Molina, M.D. (Natalie), Michael Molina, Sarah Molina (Caleb Rowe), Lauren Scott (Bo), Ryan Marchewka (Jordan Pfeifer), Joseph Pauletto, Daniel Alberto Pauletto and Elena Pauletto; and his beautiful great grandchildren, Anabelle Molina, Ephraim Scott, Lucas Alberto Molina and Florence Molina.
Born on January 13, 1934 in Cucuta, Colombia, Dr. Molina immigrated with his family to the U.S.A. in 1964, first moving to Pittsburgh, PA and eventually settling on the westside of Cleveland, Ohio. He received his degree in medicine from the Ponitficia Universidad Javeriana (Xavier) in Bogota, Colombia; one of the leading medical schools in all Latin America.
Dr. Molina was on the medical staffs of Fairview General, Lakewood, Southwest General and St. John Medical hospitals. He started his practice of internal medicine, geriatrics and endocrinology in 1972, first with an office in North Olmsted and eventually moving to Westlake. He was a dedicated and loving physician who cared for and helped many over the years. He was considered a brilliant diagnostician by his colleagues.
He valued the importance of education, especially a Jesuit education. He had a wonderful sense of humor with a twinkle in his eye that brought much joy to his loved ones and friends. He enjoyed playing tennis, gardening and sharing a good meal. He will be missed but his wisdom, values, service to others, and love of family will live on.
MEMORIAL SERVICE Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted; where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org/donate.
