Ja'Quan M. Cummings' Obituary
Ja’Quan M. Cummings, age 25, passed away far too soon on May 25, 2026, leaving a space in the world that can never be filled. Born on November 24, 2000, he was the beloved son of Janita (Jason) Moore and Larry (Juanita) Cummings.
Ja’Quan’s life was rooted in family. He is survived by his siblings James, Jatashia, Janiha, Jahmez, Ivori, and Laje-Vion, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He was a proud uncle to Kiayh, Aminah, Kalayah, Zniya’h, Ra’niya, and Azariah, each of whom brought him joy and laughter. He is also survived by his aunts, Marcella, Sakia, and Phyllis, and his uncles, John, Lloyd, and Anthony, along with many cousins who shared in his life, his humor, and his spirit. His grandmother, Juanita Gossett, and great grandmother, Grace Williams, remain pillars of the family who he loved so deeply. Ja’Quan also leaves behind his girlfriend, Ashanti Zeigler, who he deeply loved, and her children, Josiah Zeigler and Elliyana Dobbins, whom he cared for with devotion.
Those who knew Ja’Quan will remember his contagious laugh, bright energy, his loyalty, and the way he could make a room feel lighter just by being in it. His time here was brief, but the love he gave was immeasurable. His family and friends will honor him by carrying forward the warmth, strength, and compassion he showed every day.
