Jack M. Blakemore's Obituary
Jack M Blakemore, 87 of Cleveland Oh joined his beloved wife of 66 years, Elizabeth (nee Prokay) on September 13, 2025. Survived by his loving children, Dennis (Peggy), Vickie (Timothy) Gilliam, Lisa Erb, Laurie (Jimmy) Skeens, Karen (John) Pathko and Kimberly. Loving Dog Dad to Jilly. Cherished Grandfather of 11, Treasured Great Grandfather of 5. Born on February 7, 1938 in Cleveland OH to the late John M and Lousie (Traxler) Hill. Also survived by his brother Gary (Lynn) and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a graduate of West Tech High School, class of 1956, where he ran track. After high school he became an electrician. He worked at the Plain Dealer where he was a Teamster and a Union Steward. In January 1977, Jack began his career at the Ford Motor Company in the Cleveland Casting Plant as an electrician and retired in 2003 as a Maintenance Supervisor.
Jack had a passion for vehicles both 2 and 4 wheeled. In his early years he raced go karts competitively. He also enjoyed working on his vehicles. This included a variety of Fords especially Mustangs and various Harley Davidsions. He could build a car from the ground up and modify them to his liking. He was a habitual tinkerer, if something broke, he could fix it.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, September 27, 2025, Family will receive friends from 11am to 12pm in the Westwood Abby Mausoloum, located in Sunset Memorial Park 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH, where a memorial service will commence at 12PM.
