Jack S. Davis' Obituary
Jack S. Davis, 94, of Westlake, formerly of Bay Village, passed away February 1, 2018.
He was born in Lisbon and raised in Cleveland, the son of the late John S. and Anna Rees Davis. He was preceded in death by his brother Rees of Kirtland and sister Pauline (nee Balishin) of Solon. Jack was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis Grant Davis and is survived by his son, Brett Davis of Fairlawn. He was a graduate of Cleveland South High School and The Ohio State University, where he remained a lifelong Buckeye fan. Jack served in the US Army Air Force during World War II, engaged in the Rhineland, Northern France and Battle of the Bulge campaigns. He retired after a 34 year career with TRW as an engineer and manager, after which he and Phyllis spent many winters together in Tampa, Florida. He will be remembered as a loyal friend to many and a golf enthusiast.
Memorial service will take place Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 6PM in the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Group, c/o Akron General Foundation, 1 Akron General Ave., Akron, OH 44307.
