Jack Joseph Stanton's Obituary
Jack Joseph Stanton, age 75, of Avon Lake, passed away on November 9, 2020 following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Beloved husband of 53 years to Nancy (nee Rosenthal); loving father of the late Jill Stanton-Bricker, and Tim (Aimee); proud grandfather of Korinne and Ashley Bricker and Lauryn, Ella, and Joe Stanton; son of the late Jack Skryanc and Frances Kaleal (nee Simenc).
Jack started his 43-year career with Nationwide Insurance after graduation from The Ohio State University. He was an owner and managed the Executive Club West in the 1980’s, when racquetball was at its peak. He also enjoyed golfing, skiing, and hiking. He ran in several marathons and climbed Mt. Whitney.
As a former West Haven trustee, he led and co-chaired the Annual Welcome House golf outing, a major fundraiser used for its Art and Musical Therapy program.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 2PM – 4PM and 6PM – 8PM in the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 20, at 11AM at St. Raphael Parish, 525 Dover Center Rd., Bay Village, OH 44140.
Memorial contributions in Jack’s name are suggested to the Welcome House, 8025 Sharon Dr. Suite A, Westlake, OH 44145.
Jack’s ever present energy, positive attitude, and smiling face will be greatly missed.
