Jacob J. Phillips' Obituary
Jacob J. Phillips, 82, of Ohio, born in Mississippi, peacefully transitioned into eternity, August 14. Jake is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; his two children, Jay (Laura), Lisa Citore; his three stepchildren, Konstantinos (Bridget), Tasia, and Stefanos (Lucero); granddaughters Paige and Elizabeth; siblings, Ned (Sally) and Diane; nephews and friends.
Jake was a Harvard Business Graduate and successful CEO of Hinchcliff Lumber Co. and served twice as President of The National Wood Pallet Association. He zealously enjoyed all Cleveland Sports and family; was grateful for Barbara’s healthy gourmet cooking and unfailing supportiveness as his most intimate caregiver extraordinaire. Together, Jake and Barbara passionately enjoyed Christian church services, extending hospitality, theater, traveling domestically and abroad on glorious excursions via luxury cruise ships (one, on which they were wed, in 2002) and romantic elite-dining, dancing, serenading, cuddling and life’s simple pleasures. He was dapper, debonair and handsome, blessed with a crowning-glory of thick white hair, possessed a beautiful voice and a tender loving touch; admired by all. Jake will be dearly missed.
