James L. Holbrook's Obituary
James L. Holbrook JR (born February 28th, 1949) of Olmsted Township (formally of Knott County, KY) passed away in his sleep on January 14, 2024, after a short but difficult illness. Greeting him in heaven was both of his parents, James L. SR and Marie Johnson Holbrook, his beloved wife Judy Holbrook, step son Danny Holbrook, brothers Willie, Odis, and Loue Holbrook, and sisters Elvie Martin and Helen Holbrook.
Known to family and friends as Junior, he left Kentucky to join the army and bravely defend his country in Vietnam. Shortly after leaving the service he relocated to Cleveland, Ohio to begin working at the Ford Foundry, furthering his appreciation for all things automotive.
Upon his retirement in 2000, he had more free time to pursue his true passion - taking many road trips and traveling cross country with the love of his life, Judy.
Junior is survived by his step son Rich Holbrook, grandchildren Kate (Spencer) and James Holbrook, sisters Calcie Black, Doris Chandler, and sister in law Bertha Lou Holbrook; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
A Graveside Committal service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 2:00PM. Family and Friends will meet at Sunset Chapel (6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070) by 1:45PM to line up for the processional. He will be laid to rest with full military honors.
