James D. Hricik's Obituary
James ‘Jim’ D. Hricik 79 of Westlake, Ohio, passed away on January 24, 2021. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Julia (née Hegyes ) Hricik on April 6, 1941. Besides his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sister, Marian (Charles) McNulty.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janet (née Shields) Hricik; sister Ruthann (Joseph) Perry; niece Maria (Daniel) Crawford and nephew Christopher (Lisa) McNulty; stepdaughters Mary (Joseph) Roth, Jeanne (Richard) Johnson, and Maggie Shields; grandchildren Jessica (Aaron) McCoy, Alexandra (Jason) Benedict, Mitchell (Lisa) Vaughan, and Hannah (John) DiBlasi; and 5 great grandchildren.
Jim was employed as a chemist, musician and was a proud member of the National Guard. A talented trumpet player, he performed with the Dan Zola Band and played with many other ensembles over the years. Jim was a devoted jazz aficionado, trumpet instructor, vinyl record collector, and avid car enthusiast. He also enjoyed Cleveland sports and spending time with family.
A true gentleman, he will be dearly missed.
