James "Jim" Malloy's Obituary
James R. Malloy, age 87, of Berea, Ohio, passed away on May 21, 2026. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 27, 1938, he was the son of the late George and Agnes Malloy.
Jim proudly served his country as a United States Marine before dedicating many years of his life to serving the City of Berea as a firefighter, a role that reflected his courage, commitment, and love for his community.
He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Carol Malloy. He was the devoted father of Kim (Ed) and Kathy, and the cherished stepfather of Mike (Alaina) and Russ (Mary Fran). He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great‑grandfather to six. Brother to Edith Schwarz and preceded in death by his eight siblings.
Jim will be remembered for his strength, service, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
The family asks that people donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause close to Jim's heart.
Jim will be laid to rest privately.
