James (Jim) B. Meyers, 86, of Stow, Ohio passed away on March 8, 2022. Jim graduated from John Adams high school in 1953 and received his bachelors degree in Engineering Management from Case Institute of Technology in 1957, four months before his wedding to Dorothy. Jim loved woodworking and volunteering his woodworking skills with the non-profit Mobility Worldwide. He felt a strong connection to their mission of helping people in third world countries by building hand-cranked mobility carts. He also left behind many labors of love in the bookcases, chairs, blocks and animal figures he made for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim loved his family dearly and any opportunity to be with family was precious to him. He was born on July 24, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank and Mary (nee Szabo) Meyers. Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife Dorothy of 64 years; children Linda Hobson, Sandy (Bill) Currier, Christine (Jim) MacMillan, and Jacqueline (DJ) Barnes, cherished grandchildren Josh (deceased), James (Ashley) Hobson, Grant Currier, Megan (Garrett) Brown, Carli (Christian) Alch, John MacMillan, Heidi (Daniel) Richards, Joey and Alyssa Barnes, precious great-grandchildren Joshua, Henry and Sophia Hobson, Audrey, Margo and Marshall Brown, Wade and Will Alch, and Dean Richards; dear sisters Virginia (Rich-deceased) Rohaley and Diane Marmash (deceased), and dear brother Bill (Jan) Meyers; Jim was a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 10:00AM-11:00 AM at the Sunset Chapel, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 with a memorial service following at 11:00AM. A private interment service will immediately follow the memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mobility Worldwide OH-Stow, 4831 Hudson Drive #169PMB, Stow OH 44224-1707.
