James R. Schaal Sr., age 96, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away on November 4, 2025.
Born on March 3, 1929, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, Jim was the son of the late Henry and Matilda Schaal. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia Schaal, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
Jim is survived by his daughter Karen Bellomy; grandchildren Kyle and Kaylan; great-grandchildren Logan and Morgan; and his brother Don. He was preceded in death by his son, James Jr., and ten siblings, whose memories he carried with him throughout his life.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jim served his country with honor and dignity. He found joy in roller skating, a pastime that reflected his spirited nature and love for movement. His quiet strength, warm heart, and enduring sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In accordance with Jim’s wishes, services will be private.
