James D. Smith Sr.'s Obituary
James D. Smith Sr., age 69, of Brook Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020.
He was born November 21, 1950 in Bellaire, OH, son of the late Walter and Sarah (nee McConn) Smith. James enjoyed hunting and camping. His favorite place to camp was Walhomding Hills with his family. James loved the Beatles. His family was so important to him and he will be greatly missed.
Devoted husband of 47 years to Loreen (nee Gilles) Smith; cherished father of Shawn, James Jr. (Melissa), Walter (Anna), and Nichole (Tim) Browand; treasured grandfather of 14; beloved great grandfather of five; loving brother of Brenda, Marion, Walter, Diane, and the late Jan; dearest uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 4PM – 8PM in the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070 where funeral service will commence on Wednesday, October 28, at 10AM. Interment immediately following in Sunset Memorial Park.
Masks are required for the entire duration of services, and social distancing must be utilized at all times.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James’ name are suggested to the American Legion Post 91, 91 American Legion Pkwy., Berea, OH 44017.
