James J. Smolik's Obituary
James J. Smolik “JJ”, age 6, joined the angels on Sunday, August 8, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving family. JJ was born on May 11, 2015 in Cleveland, Ohio. He loved music and found great joy listening to his brother and sister playing the ukulele. JJ will be remembered for his love of ice-cream, participating in his school program Help-Me-Grow but most importantly how much he loved his family and his home. He made a huge impact in his short 6 years to those who were fortunate to cross paths with him. He will be deeply missed by his mom Sarah Moscollic; cherished brother of Faith and Maison Smolik; dear grandson of Jennifer (Robert) Apple and John (Jean) Moscollic; treasured nephew of Wendy (Richard) Hartlieb and Megan (Bryan) Hincapie; and dear cousin of Lacie Hartlieb. Family may gather for a time of remembrance on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 12 noon- 2:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in JJ’s memory to International Foundation for CDKL5 Research, IFCR PO Box 926, Wadsworth, OH 44282 or Make-A-Wish, 1702 East Highland Ave., Suite 400 Phoenix, AZ 85016.
