James Van De Weerd's Obituary
Jimmy Van De Weerd, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born on May 27, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ronald and Linda Van De Weerd and was a 1990 graduate of Elyria High School.
Jimmy was employed as a driver for Republic Services since 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing the lottery. He was a Seattle Seahawks fans and collected Diecast NASCARS. Jimmy had an amazing personality. He was easy to get along with and was truly just a “Great Guy” that everyone loved.
He is survived by his sons, Dylan Jones, and James VanDeWeerd Jr.; father, Ronald VanDeWeerd; brother, Ronald (Julie) VanDeWeerd Jr.; sister, Kim (Mike) Oswalt; nieces, Sam Oswalt, Gabby VanDeWeerd, and Ciara Atkinson; and his nephews, Brett VanDeWeerd, TJ VanDeWeerd, Joe Oswalt, and Logan VanDeWeerd.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Linda E. VanDeWeerd, in 2017
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Interment at SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK, North Olmsted on Friday, May 21st at 12:30 p.m.
