James George Zifcheck's Obituary
James George Zifcheck, 83, passed away on February 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 19, 1942, he was the cherished son of the late Helen Slanec and George Zifcheck. James lived a life marked by devotion—to his family, his work, and the people fortunate enough to know him.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Zifcheck, with whom he shared 64 years of partnership and unwavering support. He was a proud and loving father to Kristi Zifcheck and Jennifer (Robert) Costello, and a doting grandfather to Bobby Costello and Gracie Costello, who brought him endless joy. He was a loving grandfather to many four-legged furry grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, each of whom held a special place in his heart: Robert (Patricia) Zifcheck and Frank (Barbara, deceased) Slanec. Their lifelong bond was a source of strength, laughter, and shared memories. He also had three sisters, Joanne Akers, Sharon Slanec (deceased), and Anna Marie Mason (deceased).
An avid woodworker who cherished camping trips, peaceful walks in the park, leisurely Sunday drives, and his visits to Amish country, he found joy in the simple moments that made life meaningful.
James will be remembered for his kindness, devotion, and patience he extended to others. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched along the way.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
Visitation is Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 12-2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070.
