Jane A. Gelardi-Gugle's Obituary
Jane Ann Gelardi-Gugle, age 73 of Parma, born October 25, 1947, passed away May 22, 2021. Loving mother of Annette Huffman; cherished grandmother of Brittany Kotowski (Eric Calhoun), Kayleigh Huffman, and Christina Huffman (Anthony Bowen); beloved daughter of the late John Gelardi and Muriel (nee Keller); dear sister of John Geralds; caring aunt of Larry and Chris Geralds; and adored companion of cat, Peaches.
Jane proudly served her country for 6 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. During her service, she deployed to Panama and the Mahavi Desert. The discipline and patriotism she learned in the Marines never left her, as friends and family will attest. Jane was the former president of the Women Marines Association and enjoyed volunteering for the Department of Veteran Affairs in Parma. Jane loved her parents deeply and was a loyal daughter, an amazing mom and a devoted grandmother. She was an exceptionally hard worker, even into retirement. Jane enjoyed Rock ‘n’ Roll, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the Cleveland Indians, and loved her animals dearly. Her favorite pastimes included meeting new people and going to the club to dance and drink. Jane had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, with one of her favorite childhood songs being, “Beans, Beans, the Musical Fruit”.
The graveside service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park. Please meet in the Sunset Chapel parking lot, 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted, at 1:45 PM to form procession.
