Janet S. Borland, age 87, of Olmsted Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026.
Born on September 22, 1938, in Lakewood, Ohio, Janet was the beloved daughter of the late Cletus and Dorothy Kramer. The beloved wife of 64 years to the late James R. Borland. Throughout her life, she was devoted to her family, her faith, and the many friendships she cultivated over the years.
Janet was the cherished mother of Karen (James) Ahern, James Borland, and Sandra Juhn. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Mary Elizabeth (Jeff), Megan (Phil), James, Owen, and Reece, and a devoted great-grandmother to Kira, Finnegan, Aelish, Mairead, Lilly, Silas, and Tierney. She was the dear sister of Linda (Rod) Ryder and the late Nancy (Edward) Grady and Carol Kramer. Janet was also a beloved aunt and a treasured friend to many whose lives were enriched by her kindness and warm spirit.
Janet found great joy in gardening, shopping, and socializing with family and friends. Whether tending to her flowers, enjoying an afternoon outing, or gathering with loved ones, she embraced life with enthusiasm and grace. A devout Catholic, Janet's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She lived her beliefs through her compassion for others, steadfast devotion to her church, and unwavering love for her family.
Janet will be remembered for her gentle heart, welcoming smile, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her legacy of faith, love, and family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brendan Church, 4242 Brendan Lane, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
