Jean Estelle Janmey's Obituary
Jean Estelle Janmey, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025. She was born on May 28, 1929, to the late Joseph and Estelle Minor. Jean lived a long and fulfilling life marked by love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Albert Janmey and the devoted mother of the late Linda (Kevin) Kabasan. She is survived by her loving children, John (Linda) Janmey and Janet (Greg) Roth. Jean was a cherished grandmother to Lindsay (Pat) Barton and Julie Janmey, and a proud great-grandmother to John “Brooks” and Grant, who brought her immense joy in her later years.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Norma, Eleanor, Jack, Joe, and Geraldine “Bootsie,” and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember her warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
Jean had a zest for life and a passion for staying active. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, crafting, playing bingo, and card games. Her creativity and competitive spirit were matched only by her kindness and sense of fun. In her earlier years, she was a dedicated Girl Scout leader, guiding and inspiring young girls, including her daughters, with patience and enthusiasm.
Jean’s legacy is one of love, strength, and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 4470 on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest privately at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio (Section 34, Lot 461, Space 1).
