Jeanne A. Scalley's Obituary
Born on February 17, 1956, Jeanne A. Scalley (nee Reschke) went to Heaven on June 10, 2026, at the age of 70. She was the daughter of the late Albert Reschke and Patricia Reschke (nee Swank).
Jeanne is survived by her beloved Husband, Kevin C. Scalley; Daughter Abigail Utt (nee Quesinberry) (Vern); Grandchildren; Jenna, Jordan, Baleigh, and David Utt.
She is also survived by her Brother, Bill Reschke, and Sisters Cyndie Collyard, Berniece Kautzman (John), Maribeth Riggs (Lindy), as well as Sisters-in-Law, Maureen Scalley McGlynn (Tom deceased), Cathy Scalley Walsh (Roy), and Brother-in-Law Brian R. Scalley (Paula deceased) as well as many Nieces, Nephews, their spouses and children.
Jeanne's career in Accounting epitomized variety and versatility. Her work led her from being a staff accountant in small and large businesses to Head of Accounting, Controller, and CFO of medium and large companies in Industry, Taxes, Investments and Property Management.
She held a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting as well as an MBA. Her favorite positions were in Entertainment and Hospitality. Jeanne was Controller/HR at the legendary, Sammy's (in Cleveland's Flats) in the 2000's. Through the 2010's and 2020's she held similar positions at The Hilton Garden Inn (Twinsburg), Doubletree Hotel (Independence), and Hotel Indigo (Downtown Cleveland).
Jeanne's life revolved around Faith, Family, and Volunteering. Jeanne and Kevin lived in a number of areas across Northeast Ohio in their 25 years of Marriage. She was a member of Parish Council, at most of the different Catholic Churches they attended. Jeanne was most proud of the 5 years she ran a monthly Dinner For The Poor at St. Patrick Catholic Church (Bridge Ave) sponsored by Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in West Park.
Her jobs usually called for 55-hour work weeks while battling with a brittle form of Type 1 Diabetes for over 51 years, as well as Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) for over 9 years, and Focal Dystonia in her right hand for 23 years. She fought her health battles with tenacity, courage, and dignity. Jeanne became my chauffeur in 2023 after losing my right leg to a rare disease. Because of her, I was able to continue teaching music and going out to Oberlin to do my weekly Jazz Radio Show, which I could not have done without her. Jeanne remained active until entering the Hospital on April 7th.
