Jeffrey Roger Richie's Obituary
Jeffrey Roger Richie, age 65, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Connie (née Felice) Richie and the late Jack Richie.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving mother, Connie Richie; his beloved daughter, Ashley Hetman; his devoted siblings, Todd Richie and Jacqueline Brodzinski; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Connor Richie, Amanda (Zachary) Green, Richie Richie, and Sam Brodzinski. He was also a proud great‑uncle to Brody Green and cousin to Jason Schelling.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Richie, and his loyal service dog, Cheyenne.
In addition to being a proud veteran of the United States Navy, Jeffrey dedicated many years of service as a Commander with the VFW and remained deeply involved in numerous veterans’ charities. He worked closely with many organizations to support fellow service members and their families, continuing his commitment to those who served long after his own military career ended.
Jeffrey carried the values of determination, loyalty, and service throughout his life. He worked in the construction industry, where his strong work ethic, integrity, and caring nature earned him the respect and admiration of many. He was also an avid sports fan and an old‑school boxing enthusiast.
Jeffrey also had a special love for dogs—some might even say he was a true dog whisperer. His gentle heart, unwavering dedication, and warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and profoundly missed.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5-7 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral service will take place Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 AM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 with burial to follow.
