Jeremy Daniel Powell's Obituary
Jeremy Daniel Powell, 48, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 23, 2025. He was born June 19, 1977 in Canton, Ohio to Rick and Katherine (Cook) Powell. Jeremy graduated from The Cleveland Institute of Art in 2007 and was employed by MTD/Stanley Black & Decker for nearly 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sunni, daughter Olivia Klein, Sister and Brother In-Law Katie (Thomas) Marskell, Niece Elodie Marskell, Father and Mother In-Law Anthony (Sheryle) Yankel, Brother and Sister In-law William (Shauna) Post, nieces, Sienna, Hayley, Natalie and Rylee, Brother In-Law Rodney Yankel and countless other family and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents Johnny (Pauline) Powell, Maternal Grandparents Raymond (Joyce) Cook, Uncle Darrell Powell, Uncle Stephen Dale Cook, Uncle Robert Dyar
Jeremy was an innovative designer for outdoor products, known for motivating and inspiring his peers with his creativity and vision. Even early in his career, his talent stood out—while still an intern, he designed a part that continues to be used on outdoor equipment worldwide, a lasting mark of his ingenuity and dedication. Throughout his career, the products he created have been used by consumers around the globe. Outside of work, Jeremy was an avid mountain biker and found joy in countless outdoor activities, including camping, water skiing, and hiking. He also loved to travel, and some of his happiest moments were spent exploring new places and creating lasting memories with his family.
Jeremy was a positive and caring person, always ready to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unshakable fighting spirit. To those who knew him best, Jeremy’s warm hugs, steady wisdom, and quick wit were gifts they will carry with them forever. His love for life and the people around him left an imprint that will never fade.
