Jerome "Jerry" J. Lutkus' Obituary
Jerome “Jerry” J. Lutkus, age 80, was a hero of a husband and a role model for others to follow. He was kind, loving, compassionate, devoted to his family, loyal to his friends and always willing to do someone a favor or help another person who was in need.
An Army Veteran who served in Germany and rose to the rank of Captain, he returned home to earn a master's degree in business and launch a career in software engineering at Ohio Bell. While there, he was chosen for a special program conducted in New Jersey which would also earn him a technical degree. He later became an independent IT consultant, and he finished his career working on veteran pay at The Federal Building. He was a generous supporter of many charities and never hesitated to donate to those who helped to change others’ lives for the better. He always made certain that his work benefited others while he also concentrated on being the best husband and father he could be. The world would be a better place if there were more men like him.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Biskup Lutkus; his daughter, Amelia Lutkus Phillips; and his sister, Carol Lutkus, all of whom are grateful to have shared his love. Jerry considered his sister-in-law, Cheryl Lynn Fasser, a welcome addition to his family and his nephew, David Fasser, a special blessing. With that point of view, each of us were lucky to have had him affect and enrich our lives. Enjoy Heaven, Jerry!
