Larry Pinto
Nancy I’m so sorry to hear of Jerry’s death. Please accept my condolences in this difficult time. Jerry had class and character. Character--In the other sense of that word, Jerry was a character: fun to be around, warm-hearted but with a sardonic wit and a sharp tongue when he wanted to jab you a little bit. But all in fun. From a professional standpoint, he was a respected contributor to the industry through his work as Editor and later Publisher at Pest Control Magazine, now PMP. He made the industry better. From a personal standpoint, he hired me as an outside contributor to write a monthly technical column for the magazine in 1987 with one instruction: write articles that were readable, practical, and useful. It was fun writing for him for the 15 years until he retired (boy, it seems like only yesterday), and it was always a hoot getting together at pest control meetings. Like everyone else, I’ll miss him.
