Jill Smola's Obituary
Jill Smola passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2026, surrounded by the love and support of those who cared for her.
Jill was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Smola; her parents, Janice Evans and Oliver Evans; and her brother, Charles “Corky” Evans.
She is survived by her dog Bella, her loving son, Robert Evanko; her devoted daughter, Sharon Merrick, and son-in-law, Scott Merrick; her sisters, Bonnie Jones and Darla Evans; and her many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride throughout her life.
Jill will be remembered for her loving heart, her kindness, and the genuine care she showed to her family and friends. She touched the lives of many people, and her warmth, compassion, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her dear friend, Michael McConnell, for the extraordinary love, compassion, and devoted care he gave to Jill. They are also deeply grateful to Jane Brooks and Janice Beckwith, whose steadfast support and comforting presence remained with Jill until her final moments. Their kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.
In accordance with Jill’s wishes, she will return home to Cleveland, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Harry. A private family viewing and burial will be held.

Though she has left this world, Jill’s love, laughter, and memory will remain forever in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
