Joanne was an identical twin who was best friends with her twin sister Ruthanne their entire life. She was a hard-working woman who knew how to stretch earned dollars to meet the needs of her family. Joanne worked 45 years at various companies and positions.
Joanne started at Home Link Golf course and then Village Soda Shop selling hot dogs and ice cream. That’s most likely where she developed her love of ice cream! She then worked for Ohio Turnpike, Foseco, JC Penney, May Company, Weekly Mail Service and finished her career at Penton Press, working there for 25 years. Joanne worked in the accounting department and was excellent at numbers. In retirement she loved playing board, card, and word games. Her ability to spell and add scores was most impressive. She also remembered birthdays of all family members, always giving a card and gift to each. She loved cats, and in addition to having a couple as pets, collected cat figurines and anything cats. She loved red cars, Indians baseball (lifelong fan), watching figure skating, and Elvis’s music. Joanne was a good cook who had many family favorite dishes such as bacon soup, cherry cream cheese pie, pork roast, fantastic mash potato and many others.
Joanne’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved each one dearly and did her best to keep up with every one of them throughout life. She is greatly missed and will remain an inspiration to her family and friends forever.
