John J. Baughan, 70, of Parma Heights entered God’s Kingdom on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Born in West Virginia to the late James and Edith (nee Justice) Baughan on November 7, 1950.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rita; siblings Janet, James, Polly, Alice, Charles (Shirley), Marybelle, Tommy, and Alex.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Opal (nee Burton) Baughan; children Tonya Baughan and James Baughan; grandchildren Bailey, Natalie, and Connor; siblings JoAnn, Curtis (Penny), and Beverly; special in laws that were more like siblings Doris, Arthur Ray (Sue), Myrtle (Bennie), Evaline (Bo), and James ‘Junior’ (Evelyn); nieces, nephews, and friends.
Johnny was a man of strong faith and humbly attended Trinity Freewill Baptist Church. He was a very social, personable, and loving man who never met a stranger. He and Opal are strong leaders in their family and were often looked at for love, support, and guidance. The couple loved deeply and always offered help to those in need. Johnny loved being a grandfather and treated his grandchildren as if they were his own children. Our hearts will ache in his absence, and he will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2021, from 5pm until 8pm at the Sunset Chapel located at 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral service will take place Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 10am and will conclude with a burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
