John Meixner's Obituary
MEIXNER JOHN RUSSELL MEIXNER, 84, originally of Cleveland/ Marblehead, OH and retired to Davenport, FL closed his beautiful gray eyes for the last time on Thursday, May 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine Meixner of Cleveland, his first wife, of 32 years, Mary Lachman, and daughter Jean. Beloved husband to his second wife of 29 years, Linda (nee Nowacki), sister Ruth Wolf (Fred) of Avon Lake; six loving children, John (Nadine) of Cleveland, Kathie Kamenec of Olmsted Falls, Pam Bruce of Cleveland, Yvonne Grad (Alan) of Kent, Russell of Olmsted Falls, and step-daughter Michele Macklin of Valrico, Fl. He was a loving “grampa” to Michelle, Lawrence, Jennifer, Donnie, Dawn, Alex, Emily, Amanda, Brittany, Johnathon, and Kevin and proud great-grampa to Amanda, Taylor, Madisyn, Lucas, Riley, Tegan, Kyle and Alyvia; Uncle ‘Jack’ to Fritz, Kim and Kyle. He loved taking pictures, amusement parks, carnivals, fairs, theme parks and baseball games – anywhere people gathered to have a good time. He chose to retire to central Florida, in 1989, to be near all his favorite things. In his 84 years, his only regret – he never tried out to pitch for the Cleveland Indians in 1948 when asked. A memorial service for family is scheduled at Sunset Memorial Park June 22.
