John Miess, 90, of Parma, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Born on January 11, 1931 to the late John and Katrina (nee Csef) Miess in Transylvania. Loving father of Rose (Chris) Mihu, John D. (Dr. Tina Facca) Miess, and Annette (Ron) Strba; cherished grandfather of Cory Miess, Kaitlin (Brandon) McDonald, Ron Strba, Jr., Allison Miess, Samuel Strba, Jacob Strba, Laurel Mihu, and Ryan (Adelaida) Mihu; treasured great-grandfather of Khalia and Jaxon; dear brother of Michael (Elfi) Miess, Trudy (Karl) Egger, Anni (Werner) Eick, Erni (Mike) Geiger, and Erika (Alois) Eder. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (nee Rezas) and sisters Marie Homm, Sophie Bachner, and Rosina Pilhartz. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Services will be held Wednesday April 7, 2021 at 10 AM at the chapel.
