John R. Smith, 92, of Fairview Park, passed away May 27, 2018.
Beloved husband of Ruth (Hackman); loving father of Linda (Timothy) Louis, Kathleen (Robert) Bruder, and Janis (Thaddeus) Lyons; dear grandfather of Julie, Kristy, and Emily Louis, Marc, Ruth, and Janet Bruder, and Christopher and Michael Lyons; and great grandfather of 15. He was preceded in death by his parents Draper and Ada (Gorley) Smith; and brothers Charles Smith and Donald Smith.
John enjoyed fishing and wood working and cherished spending time with his beloved family and friends. He was an honorable United States Navy veteran. John was an active member of New Hope Reformed Church.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11 AM at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070. Please meet at the Sunset Chapel by 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to New Hope Reformed Church, 22960 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, OH 44126. dostalbokas.com
