John Herbert Staub's Obituary
John Herbert Staub, age 79, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on April 10, 2026. He was born on December 31, 1946, to the late Herbert and Hildegarde Staub.
John was a devoted husband, family member, and friend. John married the love of his life, Jan, in 1970 and enjoyed many happy years together until her passing in November of 2023.
We know John, Jan, and their beloved spaniel, Sally, are together again.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jan Staub; his parents, Herbert and Hildegarde Staub; and his cherished sister and brother-in-law Cathie and Raymond Reville III.
John is survived by his nieces, Cynthia Reville, Tina (Jeff) Reville‑Pudelski, and Cheryl (Ben) Kotowski; as well as his great‑nieces and great‑nephews, Marianne, Caelan, Harry, and McKenna, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
John dedicated many years of his professional life working as an accountant for LTV Steel and then Giant Eagle. After retiring, he continued to serve his community through driving and was honored to be called "Mr. John" by the students his transported. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and member of the Masonic lodge.
In his free time, John enjoyed learning about history, trains, watching movies, and visiting Third Place and Good Neighbors. His endless stories will be missed.
John and Jan will be laid to rest in a columbarium at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Berea, Ohio at a later date.
