John F. Stuart's Obituary
John F. Stuart, age 93, was born August 26, 1930 in Cleveland and passed away May 6, 2024 a resident of Avon Lake. Beloved husband of the late Joann (nee Kelty); dear father of his "Four Boys" John Stuart, Thomas Stuart (Sandy), Richard Stuart (Connie) and the late David Stuart; loving grandfather of Michael, Suzanne, Tyler, Seth, Caleb, Samantha, Dane, and Bryce; great grandfather of Matthew, Zachary, Samuel, Benjamin and Grayson.
John was a proud 1948 Graduate of West Tech High School. John was employed for 46 years by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) retiring as Director of Transportation Distribution in 1993. John moved his young family to Avon Lake in 1955 to the first of what would become three homes built in Avon Lake. John and Joann loved Avon Lake and could not wait to move back in 1989 after a ten year hiatus in Freehold, New Jersey where they had relocated after the closing of the Cleveland Division. John and Joann also loved to camp taking the family first to the 1964 New York World's Fair and then numerous national parks throughout the Western United States. John was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Freehold, New Jersey chairing various committees and Christ Lutheran Church in Avon Lake, Ohio.
John was preceded in death by brothers William B. Stuart, 'Webb" Scheutzow, Willis
W. Stuart, Elmer J. Scheutzow, Edwin "Dan" Stuart and sister Alberta Brady. The family thanks Ovi and Mariana Parasca for the great and loving care they provided to our father.
Visiting hours June 1, 2024 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. with the service at 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted. Interment immediately after Sunset Memorial Park. Celebration of Life, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Christ Lutheran Church, 32747 Lake Road, Avon Lake. Memorials may be made to The National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050. Arrangements by Sunset Funeral and Crematory Services.
