John and I became closer friends at the Beachwood Police Dept. We talked about our families and about life itself. He had these funny one liner jokes. He was very smart and sarcastically funny often. He was joking with me about looking like coach Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs which he did. Especially the picture that was posted on Facebook. They look brother's for sure. He'll be truly missed by me. RIH John my friend 😇💔🙏🏾
My father-in-law had a great sense of humor. I always liked to surprise him at Christmas with a gag gift. He loved football and had an uncanny resemblance to the the Kansas City Chiefs' coach, Andy Reid. I decided to get him a Chiefs hat for Christmas gift one year. He laughed when he opened the present and put the hat on right away. John never shied away from a joke and having fun with people. He wore the Chiefs hat around town and people would stop him and ask if he was Andy Reid, which he really got a kick out of.
John was a great man, brother, partner.
He could find humor under pressure more than anyone I know. Best line we shared at work: “It’s only a Movie!” This past year was his most difficult. I know he’s in a better place. He was a wonderful family man. I miss him already.
