Joyce Ann Livingston will be forever cherished as a woman defined by her unwavering faith, her extraordinary generosity, and her boundless love for her family. She passed away peacefully on Monday, November10, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 74.
She was born in Lakewood, Ohio, on May 15, 1951, and graduated from Saint Augustine Academy in Lakewood in 1969. Joyce’s adventurous spirit led her to depart Ohio, beginning an exciting new chapter in Alaska in 1980. She was a dedicated outdoors enthusiast, spending her time biking, playing hockey, fishing, skiing, and embracing the unique beauty of the midnight sun.
Her commitment to continued education saw her earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 1983, where she proudly played on the first all women’s collegiate hockey team. She later received an Associate of Applied Science in Legal Assisting and Paralegal Studies in 1994.
Though her career included roles in secretarial work, paralegal activities, and sales, Joyce found her greatest professional fulfillment in teaching and childcare. This work allowed her profound connection with children to flourish. She approached the day with enthusiasm, reveled in life’s little victories, and celebrated the tiniest wins to the fullest. Her deep devotion to her faith was a constant source of strength.
Despite trial and tribulation, Joyce lived for today, determined to make the most of the present moment. Joyce was famous for her incredible generosity: she made a point to send a handwritten card for every celebration and she consistently sent thoughtful gifts for every holiday. She cherished time with her grandchildren, always arriving for visits laden with new toys or special treats.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jeane Livingston (née Gallagher). She is survived by her two children, Dane Lenaker and Britni Brown, whom she shared with her former husband, Robin Lenaker, and by her five grandchildren, Lium, Luka, Lucy, Rori, and Kieran.
