Joyce Raftery, age 90, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020. Born September 5, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Joyce was a member of the Eastern Star, enjoyed camping, travelling, and crocheting, and lived and breathed her family that meant everything to her. Joyce loved getting together for family events, her favorite being Labor Day AKA her birthday celebration, and will be dearly missed.
Devoted wife of nearly 74 years to James Raftery who predeceased her on September 9, 2019; cherished mother of Kathleen (David) Churchill, Kenneth W. Raftery, and Linda (Frank) Krupka; beloved grandmother of Donald (Michelle) Churchill, Karen Dertinger, Christina Raftery, Theresa (Roger) Tillotson, Daniel (Carrie) Raftery, Jennifer (Andrew) Hohman, Frank (Donna) Krupka, James (Sarah) Krupka, Elizabeth (Jason) Branco, and Kathryn (Tony) Dean; loving great grandmother of 24; dear great great grandmother of one; sister to Robert (Roberta) Bryant, the late Richard (Marilyn) Champegny, and the late Clarence Bryant. Joyce will be reunited with her beloved husband at Sunset Memorial Park located 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted 44070. At this time, all services are to take place privately for Joyce’s family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505
