Judith Ann Nabors' Obituary
Judith Ann Nabors (Chidester) of Avon Lake, Ohio, beloved wife of Don Nabors. Judy was born on February 1, 1939, in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania to Dorothy and Louis Chidester. Judy grew up in Mt. Lebanon with her two older siblings, Bob and Joan. Judy attended Mt. Lebanon High School before attending Ohio University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. A devoted teacher, Judy moved to Cleveland and taught music for 2 years, then went on to teach elementary school in North Olmsted, OH for 31 years. During her teaching career, Judy pursued and received her master’s degree in Education from Kent State. In 1972, she met and married Don. Judy had a lifelong love of traveling and was able to go on many trips with Don, both in the States and abroad. For many years, she and Don also loved spending time with multiple furry friends, Cairn Terriers they enjoyed raising from puppies: Mouse, Moose, Molly, Barney, and Toby. Judy was always reading a book (or two) and especially loved historical fiction about the British monarchy. Judy was a phenomenal cook and loved cooking for her family and friends, often trying new recipes in addition to making their favorite dinners and baked goods.
Judy is survived by her loving family, stepchildren Tim (Yvonne), Stacey Krimmer (Bill), and Susan Sheehan (Dennis), five grandchildren, several nephews and their families, as well as beloved extended family and many cherished friends and neighbors.
To honor Judy’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Instead, a celebration of Judy’s wonderful life will be held on a later date. Family and friends who wish to express their condolences or share a favorite memory can do so at Sunset Memorial Park. Anyone wishing to honor Judy in your own way may contribute to the Northeast Ohio SPCA or the organization of your choice.
