Julie Klaski's Obituary
Julie Klaski, 48 years old of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on February 28, 2024, from Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Julie was born April 28, 1975, in Cleveland, Ohio. Julie is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Vincent Klaski; parents Dave and Judy Woehrman; Brother Brian (Melissa) and their children Lucas, Michelle and Kayla Woehrman; many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Julie graduated from Olmsted Falls H.S., earned a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University and a Master’s Degree from Ohio Dominican University. Julie was an influential advocate for all young breast cancer survivors. She was ready to tell her story to help and inspire others, and she always had a supportive smile and encouraging words for anyone in need. Julie co-led a local Young Survival Coalition (YSC) group, and she served as YSC State Leader, raising awareness for the issues specific to young women diagnosed with breast cancer. Julie also used her advocacy skills with Susan G. Komen Columbus, and she raised money by participating in the Race for the Cure annually. She enjoyed competing in the race as a runner, and regularly won medals for her place as a survivor. Julie loved being outdoors. She and her husband were able to travel to many beautiful places around the world, especially enjoying the sun and sand. Julie was also active in other community groups and in her church. She loved her job as a pediatric sales coordinator at Abbott Nutrition. Julie was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Her viewing will be at Sunset Chapel (6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio) Wednesday, March 6 from 2:00-4:00 PM with Chapel services at 4PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, North Olmsted, Ohio or a charity of your choice. Her family is planning a Celebration of Life at a yet to be determined time and venue for friends and family in Columbus.
