June C. Burford's Obituary
BURFORD JUNE C. BURFORD (nee Yobbagy), passed away March 23, 2012 at the age of 72. Wife of the late Edgar C. Burford, beloved sister of the late Ruth Y. Gregg, dear aunt of Jeanne Gregg and cousin of Judith Manko, best friend of Marlene Pangrac and a wonderful dear friend of many. She was a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College earning both her B.A. and M.A. degrees. While at B-W, she sang in the Bach chorus and was a member of Phi Mu sorority. Her teaching career began at North Olmsted High School in 1961 teaching English. After spending a year in England with her husband on a teaching fellowship, she continued her teaching career at Polaris Vocational School and then at North Ridgeville High School where she was an advisor to the National Honor Society. She finished her teaching career at North Ridgeville Middle School teaching English and acting as a representative to N.R.E.A., and an advisor for the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee where North Ridgeville was represented in Washington D.C. in 1994. A memorial service will be held June 2 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Olmsted Falls at 11:30 a.m. Contributions in her memory are suggested to a charity of your choice , Baldwin-Wallace College or First Church of Berea.
