June E. Whitmore's Obituary
JUNE ELAINE WHITMORE (NEE MCCORD), 83, of North Olmsted, passed away peacefully at O’Neill Healthcare December 15, 2017.
Treasured wife of 56 years to Richard A. Whitmore (deceased); Beloved daughter of the late Grace (nee Beles) and Harlan McCord; adoring mother of Dawn Nilsson and Mark Whitmore (Lisa Ragan and late of Debbie Rech-Whitmore, deceased); cherished grandmother of Justin, Brandon, April and Kaj Nilsson and Matthew, Max, Tyler, and Trevor Whitmore; loving sister of Mary Jane Kastor and Janice (Lou) Silvestro. Caring sister-in-law of the late Robert (Kathy) Whitmore and Sally (Fred) Pike. Loving aunt of Lisa, Chuck, Kristine, Michael, Rose, Lou, Todd, Keith (deceased), Stephanie, and Amy. June received her Bachelor of Arts in Music at Baldwin Wallace University where she met Richard, sharing their love of music. Her life was devoted to a passion for the French Horn. She played horn in the Cleveland Orchestra, Ohio Chamber Orchestra and performed in Sunday concerts at Lakewood Park. She taught music at Albion Elementary School, John Carroll University and Oberlin College & Conservatory. She influenced many young horn players by giving private lessons.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 30th at 10 AM at Sunset Memorial Park (Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., PO Box 74924, Cleveland OH 44194. dostalbokas.com
