Mr. Karl Jeno Patay's Obituary
Karl Jeno Patay, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, while holding the hand of his wife of 63 years, Ann. Karl was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, known for his smiling eyes, contagious laugh, and pranks. He is survived by his wife Ann; his children Ann (Steve), Karl (Denise), and Susan (Matt); grandchildren Deanna, Stefani (Josh), Steven, Zach, Jake, Joseph, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Spiro, and Niko; and his 10-month-old great-granddaughter, Klarika, who inherited his sense of humor and brought him great joy in his final months. Karl was a Hungarian freedom fighter, immigrating to Austria in 1956, then to the US in 1959.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, was a gourmet cook, an avid world traveler, and a talented gardener. He worked at Ford for 40 years and was known for his innovative problem-solving skills and throwing the best Christmas parties known to the Brookpark plant.
Mass of Christian burial and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 at St. Emeric Parish 1860 West 22nd Street Cleveland, Ohio 44113. Donations in Karl’s memory can be made to St. Emeric Church.
