Katharina Stumpf's Obituary
Katharina “Katie” Stumpf, age 93, passed away on June 23, 2026. She was born on November 17, 1932, to her loving parents, the late Katharina and Michael Jung.
Katharina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister whose life was defined by resilience, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Born in what was then Yugoslavia, she met the love of her life, Frank Stumpf, at a dance. Katharina later immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island, beginning a new chapter filled with hope and opportunity. Although an ocean separated them for a time, she and Frank remained devoted to one another through heartfelt letters until they were reunited and built their life together in America.
Katharina and Frank shared more than 50 years of marriage, creating a home grounded in love, hard work, and devotion while building a family legacy that spans generations.
She is survived by her sons, John (Darlene) Stumpf and Richard Stumpf; her grandchildren, Steven, Benjamin, Philip, and Kaydee, who brought her immense pride and joy; and her dear sister, Elizabeth, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Stumpf; her daughters-in-law, Karen Stumpf and Terri Stumpf; and her parents, Katharina and Michael Jung.
Her family will remember her for her remarkable resilience, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation is Monday, July 13, 2026, from 10 AM - 12 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, where the funeral service will follow at 12 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would respectfully request donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
