Kathleen Eleanor Gest's Obituary
Kathleen E. Gest (nee Mitock), 73 of Berea, Ohio, passed away on November 7, 2022. Born in Elyria, she lived in Lorain most of her life before moving to Berea in 1989. She graduated in 1967 from Lorain High School and Lorain Business College in 1968. She was the first woman Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Pack 397 of Lakeview School in Lorain and was a member of the Lorain Chapter of American Businesswomen’s Association where she was the secretary for 2 years in a row. She worked at Lorain Auto Parts NAPA for 21 years as a counterperson and paint mixer. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lorain where she was in the 11:00 AM Mass Guitar Choir. She enjoyed camping, Cleveland Indians Baseball (especially Omar Vizquel), Cleveland Browns and NASCAR. She also enjoyed trips to the Amish Country, visits from her grandchildren, spending time with her husband and entertaining their friends. She also never missed her Soap Opera, “Days of Our Lives.” She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Clyde “Rollie” Gest, her son Douglas J. Losiewicz (Lisa), daughter Kelly K. Miller (Thomas) and stepdaughter Jennifer L. Salisbury. She will be missed by her grandchildren Josh Bodnar (Courtney Perkins), Nikki Lavelle (Steven) and Dylan Losiewicz (Jennifer), and great-grandchildren Conner, Adeline, Emilia and Aubree as well as her sisters Patty A. Hrusch and Sandra Whitaker; and also, brother-in-law Curtis K. Gest and sisters-in-law Beverly J. Haag, Marjorie R. Potts and Norma L. Lukachko.She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Eleanor (nee Hamilton) Mitock, brother Michael R. Mitock, sisters Donna J. Mitock and Janet M. Mazierz and grandson Dakota Salisbury, as well as brother-in-law Russell C. Gest and sister-in-law Carol E. Nelson. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio, 44070 where a memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve at www.hospicewr.org. Inurnment will be held on a later date.
